(KMZA)--A traffic stop in Seneca leads to the arrest of a Hoyt man on drug charges and Topeka man on outstanding warrants.

Police Chief Brent Schulte says investigator Carrie Clark stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation around 10 Monday night.

Schulte says the driver, 22-year-old Mathue Mapes, of Hoyt, was found to be allegedly in possession of methamphetamine residue, scales and other drug paraphernalia.  Mapes was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on charges of intent to sell methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and no proof of liability insurance.

Schulte says the passenger, 24-year-old Thomas Coan, of Topeka, had warrants out of Jackson County.  He was arrested and transported to Jackson County.
