State Officials Remind Hunters to Put Safety First
(KTNC) - A few reminders for the last weekend of the firearm deer season...
Hunter education coordinator Mike Streeter with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says hunters should know their gun and keep it under control, know their target, obtain permission from the landowner, and use safety equipment if using a tree stand.
State law requires hunters to wear at least 400 square inches of blaze orange.
Streeter says it's also a good idea for anyone out in the woods this time of year wear blaze orange.
The firearm season runs through this weekend. The archery season runs through the end of December. The muzzelloader season runs the month of December.
