Missouri Highway Patrol Reports Light Holiday Weekend

(KAIR)--There were quite a few people on the road this past holiday weekend, and for the most part, at least in Missouri, most drove safely. According to Captain Duane Robinson, commanding officer of the St. Joseph office of the MHP, his troopers participated in Operation Combined Accident Reduction Effort, or CARE, and effort to enforce safe traffic on Missouri highways during the holiday. According to Captain Robinson, troopers issued 374 speeding tickets, 88 no seat belt tickets, and 11 citations for failure to provide auto insurance. There were also 1,106 warnings issued, and 240 motorists were assisted in various ways.

Troopers also investigated 11 crashes that resulted in 2 injuries. No fatalities were reported.
