(KNZA)--A Topeka man wanted in connection with a Jackson County burglary in October was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a chase, and a second suspect is still being sought.
42-year-old David Dresch was taken into custody after leading Shawnee County deputies on a brief chase following a report of a residential burglary in that county.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says Dresch was wanted by Jackson County authorities in connection with an October 8th burglary at a residence on the southwestern side of the Potawatomi Reservation near 118th and G Roads.
Following the burglary, the Jackson County Sheriff’s office put out an alert warning the public to be on the lookout for a green mini-van that had been seen near two south central and southeastern Jackson County burglaries a week earlier. A local citizen’s surveillance camera captured the image of the green van and suspects near the 118th and G Roads location. Morse says investigators were able to identify the mini-van and those believed to have occupied it. As a result, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Dresch on November 15th.
Morse says the Jackson County Sheriff’s office is still seeking a second suspect in connection with the burglary, 25-year-old Topeka resident Justin David Bond. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bond is asked to contact the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 785-364-2251 or your local law enforcement agency.
