(KLZA)---The Richardson County Veterans Service committee is recommending that County Veterans Service officer Ralph Huettner not be appointed to another one year term.
Members of the committee recently made the recommendation to the county commission.
In a letter presented to the commission, signed by Committee Chairman Brian Palmer, was an attachment of a letter presented to Huettner in September of 2011 stating office policies the Committee expected to be implemented by the Veteran’s Service Office.
The Committee noted that very few of the requests have been met over the past two years, saying this was the reason they had decided not to recommend Huettner be re-appointed to another term.
In another letter, the committee expressed their appreciation and thanks to Huettner for his many years of service in support of the local veterans community.
The Commission makes annual appointments in January.
In other business at the commission's November 26th meeting, the commission met with Public Defender William VonSeggern concerning his contract which expires December 31st.
The board approved an agreement with VonSeggern to serve as Richardson County Public Defender for two years, from January 1, 2014 through December 31st, 2015m, at a salary of $48,000 per year.
