(KNZA)--A grant will be sought for a new regional water improvement system in the northwest portion of Doniphan County.
The Doniphan County Commission this week approved an application for a one million dollar Community Development Block grant through the Kansas Department of Commerce for the project.
Approval followed a hearing drawing no public comment.
The project will consist of an interconnection between Doniphan County Rural Water District #6 and the city Highland along with new distribution system for Doniphan County Rural Water District #1 and connection to Rural Water District #6.
The estimated project cost is $5.3 million.
