(KNZA)--The former Executive Director of the Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce offers comment on her absence.
On Thursday, the Chamber Board of Directors issued a statement that Jamie Claycamp would no longer serve in that role effective immediately. However, recently elected Board President Tammy Elliott declined to offer any comment on the matter, saying only that it is a personnel issue.
Now, Claycamp offers a statement regarding the matter, and her words indicate it was not her decision to leave her position of 2 ½ years.
Claycamp says, during her time in the role, she dedicated service to Holton, Jackson County and the members of the organization that were true to the mission statement of the organization and policies in place.
She further states that she has many unanswered questions about the actions of the Board of Directors but few answers.
Claycamp offers her thanks to everyone who has reached out to her personally to show their support, and voices her appreciation.
For their part, the board says only that the search for Claycamp's replacement will begin in January.
