12/23/2013

(KNZA)--A search warrant served Sunday evening in Holton leads to three arrests and the seizure of what authorities say was a felony amount of marijuana.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the Jackson County District Court warrant was served at 802 New Jersey Street, focused on 22-year-old DUI suspect Kyle James Tyler. The warrant stemmed from an October 15th crash when Tyler was the alleged driver of a Honda Accord on 246th Road that struck a ditch and rolled end over end, landing in the middle of the roadway.
During Tyler's arrest, a deputy detected what he believed to be the odor of burnt marijuana in the residence. Another warrant was secured and a search of the residence was conducted, leading to the seizure of what authorities allege to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The search led to two additional arrests, 25-year-old Ozawkie resident Kyle Lee Tyler, cousin of the original suspect and 25-year-old Holton resident James McDaniel.
Kyle James Tyler was arrested on charges including DUI, felony possession of marijuana, distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kyle Lee Tyler was taken into custody on charges including felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.
McDaniel was arrested on charges including possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
All three were booked into the Jackson County Jail.
