Program Available for Beginning Farmers
12/27/2013

(AP) - Beginning farmers are invited to a Nebraska program that will help them evaluate and plan their business.

The sixth Farm Beginnings Program begins at First National Bank in Syracuse on Jan. 4. The event is sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln extension and the Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society.

Organizers say the program provides a mentorship experience and a network of successful, innovative farmers. Presenters will discuss their operations in detail.

Class participants will also work on developing their own business plan. The program consists of a series of 11 sessions from January through April.
