(KNZA)--A January 27th preliminary hearing has been set for a Topeka man accused of the rape and torture of a Holton woman.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 35-year-old Filip Rosario made his first appearance in a Jackson County courtroom Monday on 9 counts--including attempted capital murder, aggravated kidnapping, two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated battery, criminal threat, and domestic battery.
Authorities say the victim was acquainted with Rosario prior to the alleged attack on December 19th-20th. She was treated at a Topeka hospital for injuries and released.
Rosario was arrested early December 21st after he was located in a Topeka parking lot.
He remains in the Jackson County Jail on $500,000 bond.
