Brewer Brings Congressional Campaign to SE Neb.
01/07/2014

(KLZA) -- Col. Tom Brewer, Ret. an Army veteran has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Nebraska’s Third District Congressional Seat.

Brewer who grew up near the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Gordon had a 36- year military career, which included six tours in Afghanistan. That career ended when wounds he received in Afghanistan forced him to retire.

Brewer made a number of stops in Southeast Nebraska last week.  It is certainly an area that he is familiar with.  Brewer was a platoon leader with the Falls City National Guard unit in the mid and late 80’s.

In announcing his candidacy Brewer notes his desire to continue representing his Sate and home district in Washington, D.C. He says it is hard to watch when things such as the Ag Bill don’t get done in Washington.

Brewer says there must be a limitation on the reach of the federal government within each American’s life.  He noted a deep commitment to out national defense.  He also says he will do all within his power to repeal The Affordable Care Act. He also said he is weary of the constant attack from Washington D.C. and the anti-gun United Nations on our Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.

Brewer who is making his first attempt to get into politics says he feels he would be a better choice for Nebraskans than current Congressman Adrian Smith.  Brewer says Smith is a career politician that seems to be content to live in the shadows and be a do-nothing, non-controversial person to get appointed to committees and move on in life.

Brewer says his experience in helping to see things on the international level and help build nations and respond to national emergencies give his a vast knowledge of things you will have to deal with in Congress.
