Jackson Co Fight Lands Two In Jail

(KNZA)--A Friday morning report of a fight in progress ultimately lands two Jackson County residents in jail facing a variety of charges. 

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the report sent deputies to 101 Highland Street in Denison where 43-year-old Mayetta resident Henry Allen was arrested at the scene. 

However, deputies then secured a search warrant for the residence, and served it Friday afternoon, seizing items believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana. Officers of the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism were also at the scene and seized wildlife items from the residence. 

Arrested Saturday was Denison resident Kari Juanita Hopkins, taken into custody on charges of  possession of a stimulant, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and aggravated endangering a child. 

She remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail, held on bond of $20,000. 

Allen was booked into jail on charges of domestic battery, disorderly conduct, criminal threat, criminal restraint, possession of a stimulant, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

He remains in custody, held on bond of $30,000.
