(KAIR)--In the wake of the much publicized data breech at Target stores last month, Kansas Attorney General Derick Schmidt is advising Kansas residents who have shopped at Target to take advantage of a free credit monitoring service.
Target has announced that it will be offering a free one year credit monitoring service to all customers who may have been effected by this breech, and Schmidt is encouraging everyone to take advantage of it. According to a release from his office, he says that by paying attention to any accounts effected by this breech can help prevent identity theft and fraud. Also, it may be a good idea to change passwords and PIN numbers associated with any cards used at Target as an added precaution.
Customers who are interested in participating in the service, can sign up at www.creditmonitoring.target.com through April 22nd. The service includes a copy of your credit report, daily credit monitoring, ID theft insurance, and access to personal assistance.
