(KAIR)--An Easton, Missouri teen is behind bars after an alleged burglary at an Atchison County residence.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says officers were called to the 6000 block of Ottawa Rd. just before 2:00 Friday morning for a report of a burglary in progress. Once on scene, the deputy spotted a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt run back inside a barn behind the residence. After a short search, assisted by the Atchison Police Department, the suspect, 19-year-old Brandon Burton was taken into custody.
Burton did cause some damage to the property as he kicked open a door inside of the barn. Laurie says the estimated damage to the door is less than $500.
Burton was transported to the Atchison County Jail, where he was booked on one count each of criminal damage to property, minor in possession of alcohol, and burglary.
