(KNZA)--The use of seatbelts is being commended for sparing two drivers, in two separate Brown County rollover crashes Monday, from suffering major injuries.
Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says the first happened shortly before 8:00 in the morning in the area of 220th and Acorn Road. That's where 16-year-old Sabetha resident Nathaniel Nehow struck a utility pole when his northbound car left the roadway.
The impact caused the vehicle to roll over, landing on its top.
Merchant says the second crash happened in the late afternoon, around 5:00.
That's when 18-year-old Hiawatha resident Jennifer Koetting was northbound on Goldfinch Road, near 260th Road, and struck an object in the roadway.
That caused the vehicle to leave the road and roll over.
Merchant says Nehow and Koetting suffered the most minor of injuries, requiring no medical attention, because they were buckled up at the time of the wrecks.

Seriously, journalists from this area get the name wrong? Its not Nehow. Its a fairly common name in both Brown, and Nemaha, counties. His last name is Niehues. for the surname-pronouncing impaired, its pronounced Nee-house, or, alternately, Nee-hoos...that will require editorial research. I expected more.
