Nemaha NRD Seeks Candidates to Fill Vacancy
01/22/2014

(KTNC) --  The Nemaha Natural Resources District is seeking applications from those interested in filling a vacancy on the board of directors.  The vacancy in sub-district 10 was created when Ted Godemann resigned from the board at the beginning of the year.
Applicants must be registered voters and must live in the boundaries of sub-district 10, which includes all of Falls City but none of the surrounding rural area.
NRD board members are normally elected to four-year terms, but since the vacancy occurred during the first 19 months of the term, the person appointed to fill the vacancy would serve just until the end of the calendar year.  The final two years of the term would be filled through the general election process.
The Nemaha NRD Board meets in Tecumseh on the second Thursday of each month.  Board members are eligible to receive $50 per diem and reimbursement for mileage and other expenses incurred while conducting NRD business.
Individuals interested in applying for the vacancy should send a letter of application to the Nemaha NRD Board of Directors, 62161 Highway 136, Tecumseh, Nebraska 68450, no later than February 7.
The NRD Board will consider filling the vacancy during its regular meeting on February 13.
