Winter Storm Warnings Posted Locally

(MSC News)--Winter Storm Warnings are posted for area counties across the region, including Brown, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha and Pottawatomie in northeast Kansas. 

Those areas are under a winter storm warning from Midnight Tuesday through 6:00 Wednesday morning. 

The National Weather Service says to expect snow and blowing snow, with total snow and ice accumlations from 6 to 10 inches expected. 

The northeast Kansas Counties of  Atchison, Doniphan and Leavenworth, along with the northwest Missouri Counties of Platte and Buchanan, are placed under a Winter Storm Warning from 6:00 Tuesday morning through 9:00 Wednesday morning. 

The National Weather Service says to expect 6 to 9 inches in those locations. 

Local southeast Nebraska locations, including the Counties of Richardson and Pawnee, are under a Winter Storm Watch from midnight Tuesday through 6:00 Wednesday morning. 5 to 8 inches of snow are possible. 

The National Weather Service says blowing conditions, added with the fast accumulating snowfall, will make for treacherous driving conditions across the region as the storm passes.
