Atchison County Spelling Bee Champ Crowned
(KAIR)--C-R-U-I-S-E-R. That's how Skylar Clark spells victory. The St. Benedict Catholic School seventh grader spelled the word correctly to take home top honors in the Atchison County Spelling Bee Monday afternoon. Taking second place was St. Benedict Catholic School eighth grader Haylie Folsom, and coming in third was Atchison Middle School sixth grader Alvin Bowen.
Clark and Folsom will now move on to the Topeka Capital-Journal Regional Spelling Bee in Topeka, taking place on March 8th. The winner of that event will earn a trip to Washington D.C for the national Spelling Bee, which will be held May 25th-31st.
