(KNZA)--Rock and Roll, blues and bluegrass. According to his professional Facebook page, those are the musical loves of Tyler Ahlgren, a Circleville native who now finds himself in the national spotlight, featured on TV's American Idol.
Selected during the tryouts held in Omaha, Nebraska last August, the 2012 Jackson Heights graduate takes another step forward, advancing to the annual American Idol “Hollywood Week” competiton.
His selection was broadcast during last Thursday's edition of the popular program.
Ahlgren, who began playing drums at 5-years-old, will be among the contestants showing off their musical skills as American Idol continues this week on local Fox affiliates Wednesday and Thursday, beginning at 7:00 both evenings.
Ahlgren has already achieved fame in the local region, performing in local venues as well as Manhattan's annual Country Stampede country music festival.
According to his website, tylerahlgren.com, he has already released two albums, Give It All and California Bound.
