(KTNC) -- The Falls City School Board accepted the resignation of longtime teacher and Athletic Director Darwin Palmer Monday night.
Palmer has been a physical education teacher, coach, and athletic director in the Falls City school district for the past 23 years. Before that, he was at the Dawson-Verdon School District for several years.
In other action items Monday, the board approved the second reading on six policy revisions. The board gave initial approval on first reading to seven other policy revisions.
The board also voted to adopt the District Goals that were adopted at the board’s planning retreat in January.
The goals include implementing principal and teacher evaluation models; recruiting and maintaining quality staff; invest in technology that supports student learning; provide resources to support a safe environment for students and staff; strengthen school and community relationships; and support and promote a stable source of school funding.
Those goals all focus on the overall goal of raising student achievement.
North Elementary School Principal Ernie Valentine noted in his report that the Falls City School District is currently enrolling kindergarten students for the next school year.
