(KAIR)--An arrest has been made in connection with an alleged Atchison County sex crime involving a five-year-old victim.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says the investigation began late last week when officials spoke to a subject about a 5-year-old child that had possibly been the victim of a sex related crime.
After the investigation was complete, officials arrested a 16-year-old male on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy, and sexual exploitation of a child.
Laurie says the alleged incident took place between February 13th and the 17th.
He does not believe the suspect and the victim are related.
The name of the accused is being withheld due to age.
