Hiawatha Tea Tradition Continues
02/26/2014

(KNZA)--A twelve year tradition continues in Hiawatha, as the Morrill Public Library plans to hold its annual Spring Tea in April.

Tickets for the tea go on sale Monday.

Library Director Jenny Marr says the funds raised through the event are earmarked for library improvements. “We use that to purchase more materials for the library, books, movies and books on CD," Marr says. "We also use it to help fund our programming budget as well so we can continue to have supplies and stuff that we need for children's programs and adult and teen programs. It's a big part of our overall operating budget.”

Ticket prices are $20.00 for the adult tea and $10.00 for a children's tea, open to youth age 4 though fourth grade.

Both will be  held April 6th at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha.

The adult tea will begin that afternoon at 2:00 with a silent auction and music from Shane Spangler. A traditional afternoon tea will be served at 3:00.

For information about the tickets, on sale Monday, call the library in Hiawatha at 785-742-3831.
