(KAIR)--The Atchison Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the second in a three part series of Legislative Forums that will bring state and national legislators to the local area. According to Chamber President Jacque Pregont, the event is scheduled to take place Saturday morning at 9:00 in the Santa Fe Depot, located at 200 South Tenth Street.
Democratic State Representative Jerry Henry, who attended the previous forum in February is scheduled to appear along with Republican United States Representative Lynn Jenkins. Pregont says having Jenkins appear at the event gives local residents an opportunity to interact with someone from Washington, which does not happen all that often.
The forum is free and open to the public. Coffee, orange juice and doughnuts will be provided.
