(KNZA)--A Winter Storm Watch is issued for portions of the local region.
The National Weather Service has issued the Winter Storm Watch for Saturday evening through late Sunday night, with the local counties of Brown, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha and Pottawatomie included.
According to the National Weather Service, a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will overspread the warned area Saturday night into Sunday, with the mix turning to mostly snow on Sunday.
Total snow accumulations of 2 to 7 inches are possible. Sleet and freezing rain accumulation is also possible is some locations.
Gusty northeast winds of 30 mph will accompany the storm.
