02/28/2014

(MSC News)--Saint Joseph Police say two men are on the run following a morning home invasion in the Missouri city.

KQ2-TV reports the suspects are driving a dark blue Ford Explorer with the license plate number SJ7J4X.

It was last spotted on the city's 22nd street, but police were unable to stop it as the SUV sped off at a high rate of speed.

Police say two armed men entered a home in the 1300 block of Boyd street, restrained the resident and demanded personal property.

The victim, identified as an elderly man, was taken for hospitalized treatment after suffering what he says was a blow to the head.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to notify them immediately.
