Mound City Accepting Bids for Pool Bathhouse Roof
03/14/2014

(KTNC) --  Mound City will advertise for bids to replace the roof over the swimming pool bathhouse.
The Board of Aldermen approved a motion this week to have Darby Grace of Edge Contractors draft specifications to retrofit the bathhouse with a single-slope roof similar to the roof over City Hall. Grace estimated it would cost $25,000 for the roof, and his fee to draw up specifications and provide drawings for bid documents is $550.
Aldermen will open bids for the roof at their April meeting.
In other business this week, aldermen approved a motion to purchase a new Bobcat brush sweeper from Merz Equipment, for $4,090. Mound City received quotes from three companies for the sweeper, all for the same amount of $4,090, which is the state contract price.
Mound City is accepting applications for a new full-time police officer. Police Chief John Panning told the council that Reserve Officer Blaine Kennedy did not accept the full-time officer position and is no longer with the department. Panning said he hopes to have someone in place before the next council meeting on April 10.
And the council scheduled Mound City’s Spring Clean-up Day for Sunday, April 27, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., in the pool parking lot.
