(KNZA)--A two-vehicle collision north of St. Joseph Saturday evening claimed the life of a St. Joseph woman.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 43-year-old Audrey Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the Interstate 29 loop, about a half-mile north of Country Club Village.
The Patrol says Mitchell was southbound when she traveled off the highway into the median, struck an embankment, continued into the northbound lanes and struck the front a northbound vehicle driven by 63-year-old Savannah, Missouri resident Susan Rost.
Mitchell was ejected from her vehicle. Rost was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with moderate injuries.
