Fairbury Girl Dies After Being Hit by Car
(AP) - A 7-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Fairbury.
Police say the accident occurred a little before 7 p.m. Sunday. Police Chief Chad Sprunk says 69-year-old Joseph Hynek told officers that he was driving north on H Street when the girl walked into his car's path and he couldn't stop in time.
Sprunk says the girl died at Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury. She is identified as Krista Medina, of Fairbury.
The accident is still being investigated.
