(KTNC) -- Two people were injured, one seriously, in a crash early Sunday morning in rural Atchison County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 20-year-old Christopher Barnes of Albany, Missouri, lost control of the 2008 Hyundai he was driving eastbound on Highway 136, eight miles east of Tarkio.
The car went off the north side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its top off the north side of the highway.
Barnes received minor injuries and was transported to the Fairfax Community Hospital by private vehicle.
A passenger in the car, 18-year-old Madison Stinemetz of Omaha, was taken initially to the Fairfax Hospital and was later taken by life-flight to the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with serious injuries.
The accident occurred shortly after 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
