(KLZA) -- Verdon volunteer firemen responded to a house fire at 607 East 3rd Street Sunday morning. A small fire started in a wall of the home of Mike Collier, where the chimney of a pellet heating stove runs.
Most of the damage caused to the home was from smoke and water. An estimate of damage to the home was not available.
Later Sunday Verdon Firemen were called to a grass fire when a tractor being used to shred grass sparked and started the grass on fire.
The Falls City Rural Fire Department responded to a grass fire south of Falls City Sunday. The Falls City Rural Department then responded to a mutual aid call to the same grass fire the Verdon Firemen were battling.
