Squaw Creek Refuge Manager Retiring

 (KLZA) -- Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge has announced the retirement of long time Refuge Manager Ron Bell. 

Bell will retire on April 3rd, concluding a 40 year career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Ron has been the manager of Squaw Creek NWR for the past 27 years working on many habitat and visitor use improvements. 

To celebrate his career, the many friends he has made, and the projects he has been a part of , an open House reception will be on Thursday April 3 from 1 P-M to 4 P-M. The reception will be held at Squaw Creek Refuge Headquarters located on U-S Highway 159, south of Mound City. Everyone is encouraged to stop by, share stories and wish Ron well as he starts his this new chapter in his life.

In retirement Ron plans to stay active in the outdoors and have additional time to spend with the family particularly his 3 grandchildren.
