(KTNC) -- Excessive speed may have been a factor in a rollover crash that injured two Richardson County men Friday morning.
The Richardson County Sheriff’s office says 26-year-old Kalem Bennett of Falls City was driving a 2002 Lincoln LS west on 710 Road west of Salem when the car went airborne as it crested a hill. Bennett lost control of the vehicle, which skidded across the road into the ditch on the south side of the road and rolled at least once.
Both Bennett and a passenger, 25-year-old Orrin Zeigler of Salem, were injured. They were taken by ambulance to Community Medical Center in Falls City, and were transported by helicopter from there to other hospitals.
Neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected as a factor in the accident, but the report notes that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went airborne.
