EDGE Updates Falls City Council on Local Industries
04/25/2014

(KLZA) -- Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise Executive Director Beckie Cromer provided the organizations quarterly report to the City Council this week.

As reported previously, Ames True Temper has announced the Falls City facility will not be closing as was announced last year.  In fact the company is looking to hire workers and Cromer reported the company plans to make a change in the process by which they heat the steel they use. The change will mean the company will use electrical furnaces to heat the metal instead of natural gas.

Cromer also reported that WASP Inc. plans to invest a half-million dollars in equipment upgrades and are currently building a 40 by 60-foot addition to their facility.
