Atchison County native Jeff Schuele, shown here in this MSC News file photo, has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Live Well, Live Atchison.
(KAIR)--Atchison County Commissioner Jeff Schuele has filed for re-election to a second four-year term. So far, he's the only candidate seeking the 1st District Commission seat.
Schuele, who currently serves as Commission Chairman, says he thinks the Commission has made some real progress in the past four years, and he wants to continue that effort.
Schuele adds that while a lot has been accomplished in his time as Commissioner, there is still work to be done. He says that only do roads and bridges need some work, but there is a good deal of county equipment that needs updating as well.
Schuele says that the county also needs to really focus on working with other local governments, and this can be a huge key as the county moves forward, since there is a lot of joint local government work that he would like to see through to completion.
Candidates have until noon on June 2nd to file at the Atchison County Clerk's office.
