(KAIR)--A second arrest has been made in connection with a series of vehicle thefts that have taken place in Atchison over the past month.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says the arrest took place Thursday morning. The juvenile suspect's name and age is not being released at this time. The first suspect, also a juvenile, was taken into custody late Tuesday afternoon.
Wilson says each of the two suspects allegedly took part in one of the five thefts, and allegedly worked together on a third.
Wilson adds that police are continuing to investigate the possibility that these thefts are connected to a series of recent burglaries to Atchison businesses. Maria's Mexican Restaurant and Strong's Body Shop were both burglarized Sunday night, and the Atchison Library was burglarized last week. Nothing was taken from Strong's, but cash was taken in the other two break-ins.
