(KLZA) -- Friday is the last day of school for Auburn students. The students go home at 11:30 a-m and by noon the demolition crew is scheduled to begin on the high school gymnasium renovation.
Step one is taking out the bleachers. That part of the project is scheduled to be done by Tuesday, the floor should be torn out by next Friday and painting begins on May 27th.
Auburn Superintendent Kevin Reiman says you can purchase a section of gym floor if you wish. The pieces will be sold as a fundraiser at s cost expected to be $3 per square foot. The pieces are likely to be 3 feet by 3 feet or 4 feet by 4 feet.
The gym renovation project is to be completed by the time school starts in August.
