(KTNC) - The end of the school year means that school districts will be gearing up to complete various summer maintenance projects. There are projects scheduled at all four school buildings in the Falls City School District.
One project is an electrical upgrade in the High School welding shop. The upgrade is required to improve the electrical safety in the shop and accommodate new welders that are being provided for a new welding course.
Southeast Community College is providing the welders and coordinating the course in conjunction with the Falls City School District and Falls City EDGE.
The new welders were to be delivered this week and the month-long welding course is scheduled to begin on June 3.
The summer maintenance projects in the Falls City School District include roof maintenance at all four school buildings.
Projects at North School include: replacing electrical panels in the kitchen, replacing doors, painting ceilings, and replacing a playground bench.
South School projects include: replacing a section of sidewalk south of the practice field, repairing electrical panels in the kitchen, replacing the exterior gym door, and replacing ceiling tiles in the hallway.
A project at the Middle School is installing classroom doors and locks on the second floor.
Projects at the High School include: updates to the stadium locker room showers, replacing windows in the Life Skills classroom, refinishing the main gym floor, replacing locker room doors, and continuing a turf maintenance project at Jug Brown Stadium.
Maintenance projects also include grass seeding on the North School playground and Boiler Maintenance.
