(KAIR)--An Atchison man wanted on a district court warrant for a probation violation is facing drug related charges after being stopped by an Atchison County Sheriff's Deputy Saturday afternoon.
According to the Sheriff's office, the deputy stopped 27-year-old Cory Shughart in the 500 block of Elizabeth Street in Effingham just after 12:30, knowing there was a warrant issued for his arrest.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Shughart allegedly had various narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was immediately taken into custody.
Shughart is facing charges of possession of a stimulant, possession of a depressant, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended.
He remains in the Atchison County Jail.
