Long Agenda for Falls City Council Meeting

(KLZA) -- The Falls City, City Council will meet Monday night at 7 p-m at City Hall.  Due to the May 19th Council meeting being cancelled due to the lack of a quorum, the agenda for Monday night is lengthy.

During the meeting the Council is expected to take action on appointing Jeremy Goldsberry to the position of police officer as recommended by Mayor Tim Hersh.  Goldsberry formerly was a Falls City Police officer.  First Ward Councilman Mike Dougherty has requested the Fire Department fulltime driver’s position be placed on the agenda.

A public hearing is scheduled for a Class IK liquor license for Witt & Witt Investment doing business as Dickey’s Barbecue Pit at 117 East 17th Street. Action on the application is expected following the public hearing. This would be for On-sale beer, wine and distilled spirits and would also include a liquor catering license.

Council members will also discuss a request to purchase a 2015 Ford Explorer from Hullman’s Ford in the amount of $27,252. An ordinance on changing the meeting time on the third Monday of each month to 7 p-m will be discussed on first reading.  

Discussion and action on operating All Terrain / Utility type vehicles within the City limits will be discussed with Terry Tisdel. 

Waiving the building permit fee for the Rural Fire Department building addition will be discussed as will a request to construct a metal building for a garage / shop at 1923 Clifton Street.  A request to build a metal building for a shop at 620 Harlan Street will be reviewed along with a request for a curb cut at that location. 

Discussion on a proposed donation of the grass lots at 111 west 17th Street to the City by SNC and Dorothy Towle will be held.  

Requests for the Sauces and Cycles event in July will be reviewed including closing 17th Street from the alley between Harlan and Stone to the intersection of 17th and Stone Street at 11 a-m that day; and a special designated liquor license for a beer garden by Eric Froeschl with The Would Eye.

Discussion will be held on a proposed 3-year contract with Julie Bauman for the city audit and a discussion will take place on a public records request.

An executive session to discuss personnel, litigation and real estate negotiations will be held at the conclusion of the regular business of the meeting.
