(KNZA)--Tax credits have been awarded for affordable housing projects in several area northeast Kansas cities.
The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation this week announced the approval of tax credits through the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program for projects in Hiawatha, Holton and Marysville.
In Hiawatha, they will be used to fund the renovation of 48 units for seniors at the Pemberton Village Apartments; in Holton, for 36 new units for seniors; and in Marysville for 48 new units for families.
The state Housing Resources Corporation has authority to allocate about $67 million of ten-year credits each year.
The agency is a self-supporting, public corporation which serves as the primary administrator of federal housing programs for the state of Kansas.
