(KMZA)--A ribbon cutting is planned for this week as a local telecommunications and technology company expands operations.
The ceremony comes as Rainbow Communications last week openend its newest office in the local area, this time expanding into Sabetha, operating at 121 South Washington Street.
That happened as the company is in the process of building a fiber optic network in the Sabetha business district.
According to a press release from Rainbow Communications, that work will allow Sabetha businesses to access the internet 100 times faster through use of a state-of-the-art broadband network.
Meanwhile, residential Sabetha customers later this year will welcome an upgraded cable system which will provide additional bandwidth, meaning increased internet speeds.
The ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Sabetha office will happen Friday afternoon at 2:00.
Rainbow will serve cookies and refreshments after the ribbon is cut.
The company is also planning a customer appreciation event in mid-July.
