(KLZA)-- Fire caused minimal damage at a Falls City nursing home Monday morning.
The Falls City Volunteer Fire Department and Falls City Rural Firemen responded to a call at the Falls City Healthcare Community nursing home in the 2800 block of Towle Street shortly after 7:30.
The plug-in on an air conditioning / heating unit in the housekeeping office of the facility caught fire, charring the sheetrock around the outlet and melting the outlet.
Falls City Fire Chief Ken Simpson said one wing of the facility had to be cleared of smoke but otherwise the damage was minimal, and there were no injuries. By the time firemen arrived the fire had extinguished itself. Damage was isolated to right around the plug.
