Kansas Department of Agriculture relocates to Manhattan
The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) has successfully completed the relocation process and is open for business in Manhattan, Kan. The agency is leasing the building from the KSU Foundation.
“This is good day for Kansas agriculture. The Kansas Department of Agriculture is looking forward to being in Manhattan, being able to further collaborate with Kansas State University and other industry partners and ultimately better serve the farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses and consumers of Kansas,” said Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Jackie McClaskey.
An official building dedication and open house will be held September 18.
The new mailing address for KDA is 1320 Research Park Drive, Manhattan, Kansas 66502. The main phone number is (785) 564-6700.
KDA will retain an Office of the Secretary in the Landon Office Building in downtown Topeka. That office includes administrative support and workspace for staff during the legislative session. Offices at Forbes Field include the State Agriculture Laboratory as well as some of the Weights and Measures, Plant Protection and Division of Water Resources field staff. Additional field offices across Kansas supporting the Division of Water Resources include offices in Stockton, Stafford, Garden City, Parsons and Olathe.
The Kansas Department of Agriculture works to serve all Kansans and strives to help grow and support the state’s largest industry dedicated to the production of food, fiber and fuel for consumers here and around the globe.
