Brown County Fair Kicks Off Tuesday

(KNZA)--The 96th Annual Brown County Free Fair will kick off Tuesday at the fairgrounds in Horton and run through Friday.

The theme this year is “ Preserve Your Past, Relish the Present, Prepare Your Future”.
 
Tuesday will bring the rabbit and poultry shows, with the parade at 6:30 that evening.  Also the fashion revue will take place following the parade.

Wednesday’s highlights include the swine, bucket calf, beef and dairy shows.  That evening the pedal power tractor pull will take place at 7, with registration beginning at 6.

Free entertainment will be provided Thursday evening.  Country music singer/songwriter Erik Dylan, who hails from northeast Kansas, will perform at 8.

Also Thursday evening the Extension Council will be serving grilled pork burgers beginning at 5:30.

The Fair will wrap up Friday evening with the awards program and livestock sale.

A carnival will be held on the fairgrounds Tuesday-Thursday evenings, with tickets available at various Horton businesses.
