(KAIR)--The Salvation Army of Atchison County will be offering two introductory courses on disaster service work for anyone who may be interested in serving the community during a time of disaster.
The first course is an introductory class designed for those who have limited disaster experience, and are just getting started with the Salvation Army. The class will provide an overview of the organization’s mission and it's role within disaster work, and participants will learn how to best prepare themselves for a disaster deployment.
The second course will teach participants the basics of safe food handling. Topics covered include how food can be come unsafe through time-temperature abuse, cross-contamination, and the importance of practicing proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques.
