(MSC News)--A group of inmates assigned to a Buchanan County, Missouri clean-up job found more than trash at an illegal dump site in the southern portion of the county Monday.
According to the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, the work crew found several garbage bags filled with sealed bags of marijuana.
According to KQ2-TV, the crew recovered 678 individual one-pound packages along with large bags of marijuana that were not packaged.
Altogether, the marijuana weighed more than 700 pounds. The Drug Strike Force estimates the value at between $700,000 and $2 million.
The agency is investigating to determine who is responsible.
