(KNZA)--Brown County is proposing a 2015 budget of nearly $9.3 million that calls for the property tax levy to remain basically the same.
The County Commission approved the budget for publication Thursday.
It contains an estimated tax rate of 37.292 mills, with the amount of tax to be levied at just over 5 million dollars. Even though the property tax levy will remain basically the same as this year, the county will collect about $270,000 more in property tax revenue due to a increase in the county’s assessed valuation.
The commission will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing at their August 25th meeting.
