(KTNC)--A northwest Missouri woman was injured Thursday afternoon, when she lost control of her car on a highway near Tarkio.
The State Highway Patrol says 36-year-old Megan Carter of Burlington Junction was driving a 1998 Chevy Cavalier west on Highway 136, approximately three miles east of Tarkio, at 5:45 Thursday evening when the car ran off the north side of the roadway. The car briefly returned to the road before skidding off the highway again, overturning and striking a utility pole before coming to rest on its wheels on the north side of the roadway.
Carter was transported by ambulance to Community Hospital in Fairfax with moderate injuries. The State Patrol says she was not wearing a seat belt.
