Former Brown Co. Officer Waives Hearing
08/11/2014

(KNZA)--A former Brown County law enforcement officer will stand trial on aggravated battery charges.
Dustin Mather, of Olathe, waived his preliminary hearing Friday and was bound over to Brown County District Court for arraignment on September 8th.
Mather was arrested last November on a Brown County warrant for two counts of aggravated battery.
He’s accused of intentionally causing bodily harm to the same individuals on two occasions last year—February 25th and March 5th.  The victim is identified only in court documents by the initials S.M.
The case is being prosecuted by the Kansas Attorney General’s office.
Mather was a former officer with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Hiawatha Police Department and Kickapoo Tribal Police Department.
He remains free on $50,000 bond.
