(KTNC)--Two veteran teachers were recognized for their contributions to the success of Falls City Public School students.
Noala Fritz, who has taught in the Falls City Public Schools for 37 years, was named the Secondary Teacher of the Year and Deb Harris, who is beginning her 33rd year as a classroom teacher, was named the Elementary Teacher of the Year during the District 56 pre-service event Monday at Falls City High School.
This is the second year for the award, which recognizes one elementary and one secondary teacher. They each received an engraved plaque and a $1,000 award from the Falls City Educational Foundation.
District 56 Superintendent recognized Fritz and Harris during Monday’s School Board meeting.
In action items, the board set public hearings for the 2014-15 Budget and property tax request for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8. The board will hold its annual budget workshop at 6:00 p.m. on August 25.
